Education Programs – For Community

Community Support

Most people have a limited understanding about grief and are often uncertain of what to say or how to support someone who has lost a loved one, especially a child, sibling or grandchild.

On top of this, many people have never heard of The Compassionate Friends Victoria and therefore are unaware of the support we can provide to bereaved families.

The Compassionate Friends Victoria have a number of education programs that can be tailored to suit any audience and every program is presented by a trained speaker with lived experience.

Our presentations aim to provide a better understanding of grief, to assist the audience in feeling more confidant in knowing what to say to someone who has experienced the loss of a child, sibling or grandchild and to generate awareness about our support services.

Our goals are simple:

  1. To increase awareness so that people who need us, know about us
  2. Help everyone else in the community better understand grief and feel comfortable talking about it
