Co-ordinator -
Events & Bereaved Parent/Sibling Services
Part time 15 hours per week (flexibility required)

The Compassionate Friends Victoria Inc. has been providing mutual support self help grief support to bereaved families throughout Victoria for 32 years.

An opportunity exists for a person with excellent organisational, administrative, events co-ordination skills to join our small team.

The Co-ordinator Events and Bereaved Parent Sibling Services is responsible for the development of The Compassionate Friends event program and Bereaved Parent Sibling Services program at a state level in accordance with The Compassionate Friends role as a Mutual Support Self Help bereaved parent, sibling and grandparents service provider.

This involves the planning, implementation and co-ordination of the programs at a state level and the recruitment, development and retention of sufficient numbers of skilled volunteers to resource TCF's events and services can operate.

Understanding and experience in health promotion;

Experience in event, seminar and/or project management.

Experience working in the bereavement and/or not for profit sectors

Excellent planning, organisational, administration & relationship building skills

High quality written & verbal skills including presentation skills

Drive and ability to encourage, support and work with a team including volunteers, staff, professionals & bereaved parents, siblings and grandparents

Demonstrated experience in recruitment, assessment and training co-ordination & supervision of volunteers

Highly confident in the use of Computer, including of Microsoft office programs, database, powerpoint, Internet & email

Able to work autonomously and as part of a team

Experience as a bereaved parent or sibling well regarded

Vocational training in a relevant discipline or demonstrated experience in a community development or similar position.

Current Victorian Driver's Licence and car

Travel on occasions throughout Victoria
